Title probably hints you what this is going to be about, but I'll still light it up a bit:

So this journal is basically me rambling on and on about how I felt about this episode. The ups and downs in it and also my feelings towards the show "Phineas and Ferb" ending in general.

Now, this is just  me speaking here and sharing my opinions and views, but I like conversation, so - if you feel like it - feel free to share your own opinions too in the comments.^^

Needles to say, SPOILER ALERT
~~~~
Okay, so I'll start with just talking about the episode "The Last Day of Summer" itself:
Personally I liked the episode. I thought it was a good way to end the series. It was sweet, very emotion awaking and fun with an interesting and new plot and surprising twists and funny moments. I liked how they were able to still offer us something actually new, while still also keeping things "classic"
The setting was good. I mean, we all knew that the last episode would naturally be the very last day of summer (as the first one was the first day of summer, it would've just been dump to not the end on the last day of summer). I think it was nice to go back to "the classic PnF setting" in this episode with Candace obsessing over busting, Doof trying to take of the Tri-State Area, Vanessa having problems with her dad and Phineas and Ferb just doing what they always do: having fun!
I liked how, despite really being nothing new, these really worked in this episode and actually were the main point. It was interesting to have focus be more with Candace and Doof at first. Plus I really love the time mess they made. It really made sense how things would go like that and how in-character the whole thing was (you know, Candace just pressing the button without thinking it too clearly and Doof just going along with it without thinking about the consequences).
More on Candace and Doof, I love how they sort of tied the lose ends with these two. You know, making and end to their busting and inator building. Well, atleast with Doof. I think that Candace would always have that little bust -feature in her and she would every now and then playfully try to bust her brothers (like for ex. in "Happy New Year!"), but I believe that after everything  that happened in this episode - and her losing her brothers for real (even though only for a moment) - she would be much more careful to not  to get too carried away with her busting.
Doofenshmirtz on the other hand, I have to say, I was really surprised that they'd have him turn good for real. Sure, he never striked anyone as "truly evil", but it's still surprising. But I love how sweet it was, how he was ready to do it for Vanessa and how she was the one to actually make him see that it was just his bitterness and unhappy childhood memories that made try to be evil, not the person he truly was. I believe there's still a bit more to that story though, and I can't wait untill the OWCA files airs!
I also loved seeing Vanessa's and Candace's friendship featured (again! Is it just me or have they really given candessa ship/frienship more attention lately than canderemy and montessa?) plus how adorable Isabella was when she remembered Phineas (otp!). It was a good thing that the episode really didn't focus on the romance more than that. I mean, we already got AYA and several other shipper fanservice moments in the series, so it was good that this one just focused on family above everything else.
However, there were still some things that I really would've wished from the final. I mean, I know that the end can't and shouldn't have EVERYTHING in it, but  still some things were left un-answered.
Partly I think that they did this in purpose, after  all there are a lot of theories within PnF fandom, so maybe it's even better to let some things just to be decited by every viewer themselves. Still, for example, I would've wished some more canon mention of Phineas and Candace's biological father (that stupid tease in the Star Wars -special!) or perhaps a slight view on their school life and such. But, those aren't really that serious and I can probably live in the suspense. Probably...(like I said, not EVERYTHING can be solved eventually)
The other main thing is the minor characters. While I do understand why they'd only want to include the very main cast (I mean, they are the ones we started with, so it's sort of poetic to have them in the finish), but still a lot minor characters were known and loved amongst the fandom, so it would've been nice to seem too. I mean, atleast  in the final song, kinda in the "Carpe Diem" -style like in "Rollercoaster: the Musical" since it's not too uncommon for the show to have a random Broadway-ish musical out of a sudden (a lot of fourth wall was braken in general anyways). I suppose that in a way a lot of characters did get a cameo in the song in the scenes from former episodes, but  that's just not the same...
But overall I still loved the episode a lot and although it did give me an empty  feeling in my chest, I can't imagine a better way they could've ended the show (despite the little complains I made above). I'm not saying this is the most perfect way to end a series, but it sure is a fine way to end Phineas and Ferb. The show has had a long a run and I think it deserved a good ending. I sort of predicted that they might end the show after the fourth season (it seems to be rather common). It's wistful, but the last season has been one of the best if not the best season of the show in my opinion so, in a way, I guess it's only fair to end a great show there, right?
Finally, I'd personally rate the episode with Star! Star! Star! Star! No Star
Edit:
My dad fixed it, so you can just ignore the rest.^^;
~~~~

I accidentally spilled some water on it and now it's all messed up.:/

It still works a little... but it has like these sort of "seizures" where it just keeps switching in-between windows while drawing and it's really hard to control the pen...

My dad's trying to fix it, but I'm afraid that it's circuits are too damaged to be fixed anymore...

And you know what a broken tablet means: no digital drawing.

I know this is definitely not a first World problem and that things could be a lot worse, but I still feel so annoyed and frustfrated with myself. I've spilled water all over my table plenty of times before, but each time I've been quick enough to dry my tablet right away. This time it took me a while to even notice that it was even wet in the first place...

And now it's broken. Probably for good.

It's not an end of the World, but it's sure as hell is not an easy cheap thing for me to get a new tablet just like that...

Okay

So I have to admit that I had my doubts on this episode when we had that whole fuss over the premier in Russian last Fall. My excitement on this episode sort of fell and I felt like it would not live to the expectations, because, as you know, it was marketed as one of the best episodes on Phineas and Ferb that has aired so far.

And you know what.

I'm so glad how wrong my doubts actually were!

I watched it just a moment ago and I loved it!:love:

At first I wasn't so keen on seeing them get together like 10 years after the series and apparently not have Phineas know anything about her feelings during that  time, or even after, but this episode actually did it rather well. It was romantic (duh, Valentines Day special!), but  not as corny as any fanfic you can read. I still find the overall plot for the episode to resemble awfully lot of something written by a shipper fan. However, even these things can work, if they're done properly (even in fanfiction). And it was done well in AYA.

One of my favourite things in this episode was how they revealed that Phineas also had a crush on her, but in High School. And for me that's just perfect because it's literally how I always imagined it.:heart: Isabella having enough and starting to let go while Phineas actually starts to fall for her and would be willing to take her of the friendzone, but now poor Isabella accidentally puts him in the friendzone because she's trying to let it go! I just love that little detail there.

Off from phinbella (also how can you not fangirl over the fact that they actually SAID IT in the song?) I liked how the other relationships went. I didn't get too many notp-feels from the episode (not that I really have one in PnF anyway...). First of all, I could just hear all the ferbnessa fans shout in victory at the end. Our ship just kinda rised from the dead there.XD Though for my taste they could've put a little more detail to ferbnessa as well, but... I suppose that's understandable. This is a phinbella episode, after all. Maybe in the future. Maybe.

I'm probably the only one, but I actually loved the fact they bothered to mention Mishti and bring up Ginger's jealousy. Yes, I know, I know that does not mean that Baljeet would still have a thing for his childhood friend I like to think he does, sue me and that he would be unhappy or anything with Ginger. I just, they very easily could have not mentioned Mishti at all and not make Ginger jealous, but instead they did. Just think about that.

And Doof, he was just adorable. With Perry. Though I'm not sure how to deal with the apparent "he's no longer evil" -thing... I guess it could work. He can and will always find something else disasterous to do. Still a shame though...

But yeah, as much as I liked this episode, I still don't think that it was the best episode of the series ever, or that it didn't have few flaws (in my opinion). For one thing, I really would've liked to see more Candace. She merely even had a cameo. Though I suppose that can be justified *cough*Quantum Boogaloo*cough*. Also I would've wished to see Phineas and Ferb do something together, a scheme or so perhaps. He actually spend very little time with him in this episode. In general I would've liked to see and hear more about their teenage lives, since we've waited over six years to see them like this or so. But I guess you gotta leave something to the imagination.:''D

In general, I liked this episode. It was a lot of fanservice and especially shipping candy for us, but I don't  think it was a bad one. It still had the series feel to it and it did not get too carried away, although it's most popular couple finally became canon.^^

What a good time to be a shipper, if you go for phinbella, ferbnessa and canderemy, that is.

Who knew that not knowing how American school system works could be such an effective thing keeping you from writing or further more putting your fanfictions on the internet. As if not being a fluent speaker (a.k.a having already pressure with language as you need to translate everything) and not knowing all the rules when it comes to grammar and overall writing system wouldn't be enough.

Kheh, me and my little dilemmas. But  I'm not really joking, this little fact is one major thing why I'm not too keen on putting my own fanfictions (mainly Phineas and Ferb) here... I know it's a type thing that you shouldn't worry too much about and just write and learn on the job, but the pressure is still there. Plus that English actually isn't my first or even a second language I feel really sensitive about writing any real long stories with this language. Not only because I really worry over all the types that I may make, but also the vocabulary. It's a whole new world writing an actual multipage story than just rambling on and on about something in a description or a journal.Dead (RIP)

But I guess that even more that I'm worried about the text itself is the consept. I mean, personally I'm willing to forgive some minor typos or misspellings in a story if the plot itself is good and on it's own league even makes sense. Which brings me to my problem with school system. It's a tad different between USA and Finland. And along with the school, sometimes theres some minor problems with some cultural things (such how does a catholic wedding work down to the core. I'm lutherian myself, so althought both christian, there's some differences) etc. So in that I guess that my biggest fear is that I'll write something really unfitting for character who live in America.^^; I know it's a tad silly, since it's most likely far more easy to screw up the plot or write everything out of character.

Yeah, this little ramble didn't really have much meaning I suppose? Mostly just me worrying about things.

I should briefly explain where this problem started: So I've been working on this Phineas and Ferb themed fanfic and I kinda stumbled on their educational issues and simple issues with how to prepare a wedding...I think I've fainted.  But thankfully I have a internet on my side, so I think I'll manage, for now.^^'

Wow, what do you know, I actually wrote a full-lenght journal.

And all this because I wasn't sure if you you'll have to go to college before going to university or not in America.

WINTER BREaK! FINALLY! I'M FREE!

Seriously though, secondary school (I have no Idea what I should call it in English, because it's kinda of a mixup between high school and college so...yah) has kep me so busy lately that I've hardly had any time to work on anything special or very fan-orientated. I've usually  just been too busy or tired to do anything, so my dA is kinda dead at a moment.:'D

But, I hope to fix that as the holidays arrive. Sure, I got some plans for them too, but I'm not too occupied with studies or anything school-related anyway, so I should have some more time now. There are some Phineas and Ferb -related things I'd like get started on and just in general I'd like to fan art more and stuff.^^

I wonder what I'm going to do now since Legend of Korra ended (it was awesome), Over the Garden Wall was just a mini-series and PnF isn't  showing any new episodes 'till next year.:< But well, I have some movies I should catch up on. And of course just getting more in-touch with the fanstories, that's a good road to go to anyway.

Okay, I'm probably not making any sense here... The point is:

My Winter Break just started and I'm going to be more active here (hopefully).
